0

The main issue or rather shortage the industry is facing is of the feed for the poultry. The primary feed for poultry is corn or maize and the secondary is soya. The problem is that both are costly. The primary feed production in Tamil Nadu which forms nearly 60% of the poultry feed, does not meet the demand. A large amount of these feed is purchased from Karnataka. Secondly the soya feed is too costly and the poultry people are not able to buy it. The price of Soya is between Rs 10,000 and Rs 14,000 per ton. So the poultry industry people in Tamil Nadu are not able to procure it in accordance to their necessity. How do you think the government can help the industry in these areas? The government can take steps and reduce the price of these feeds. The reason why the industry is disturbed is because the cost of maize or corn is 80% more than last year. The government can market it through regulated means so that farmers can purchase it easily. The government can also procure these feeds
