What are the problems with an alarming population density? In particular, like Mexico City?
As population numbers in a city rise you get a number of problems. Firstly living space becomes an issue as you cram more and more people into the available space. What then happens is that you get the start of shanty towns developing on the outskirts of the city. This happens as people are attracted by jobs and opportunities to the big cities, but find they cannot afford to live there so informal settlements develop. Shanty towns have a number of problems; little sanitation, limited clean water, lack of electricity, spread of illness, crime etc. Normally as well, as you dont own the land there is nothing to stop landowners evicting you with a bulldozer. In Mexico there are big problems with pollution, as the city sits in a bowl surrounded by mountains. So they have had big problems in the past supplying water and removing sewage.
