What are the promotions that you have initiated in India to boost Indian tourism to Dubai?
I have been operating the Indian office now since 1997, and we have conducted this year a very large number of initiatives. Strategically, the most important decision we took was that we went beyond the metro cities. We actually went into smaller cities and towns to market the destination because sample surveys and studies have showed us that there is a larger number of travellers coming from smaller cities and towns. Though flight connectivities are there from places like Lucknow, Bhubhaneshwar, Jaipur, Coimbatore and so on on different types of aircrafts and airlines like Indian Airlines, Air India, Emirates, we felt the necessity to go to other towns. So we actually conducted marketing initiatives in towns like Chandigarh, Nagpur, Coimbatore, Trivandrum, Cochin, Lucknow, Bhubhaneshwar, Jaipur, Baroda and Surat. So I think we are one of the few tourism boards to have actually approached the bodies that have actually gone beyond the traditional boundaries of Delhi, Chennai and Bangalo
