What are the pros and cons of genetic modification?
The main con is the ethical and religious arguments, people who believe that we should not tamper with nature, the pros are dependant on the subject of the modification, in plants we can increase resistances to disease and reduce the need for artificial fertilisers, whereas in animals we can alter different characterstics, however most of this is theory only at the moment, we simply don’t know enough about genes and DNA to be able to manipulate them effectively.
