What are the qualifications for a seat lift mechanism?
There are four major guidelines to qualify for a seat lift mechanism: 1 – Patient must have severe arthritis of the hips, knees OR have a severe neuromuscular disease. 2 – A seat lift mechanism must be a part of a physician’s course of treatment that is prescribed to effect improvement or arrest/retard the deterioration of his/her condition. 3 – The patient must be completely incapable of standing from any other chair in his/her home. 4 – Once standing, the patient must be able to ambulate (walk).
