What are the qualities and qualifications required to be the President of India?
As the President of India is a Constitution Head of the Country, so the person to be elected on this post should have the following qualities and qualifications. The cadidate must be honest, wise, well versed with Constitution of India. Should be highly qualified at least PG or Doctorate Degree. As their is no qualification of the members of parliament or legislative assemble. The decisions taken in the Houses of Parliament are put for the assent of President. The candidate for the post of President of India should have the capacity to know about the pros and cons before according his assent for the implementation.
Basic qualifications are that the person should be a citizen of India, must not be having any government job, must be above 35 years of age and must be qualified to contest any election for MP. As far as qualities go this is purely subjective criterion which has not been defined but it is expected that the person should be above political affiliations, honest and of impeccable credentials.
