What are the recommended hours and pocket money?
An Au Pair usually works about 5 hours a day plus 2 evenings babysitting. Most families choose to break this down to an hour or two before school in the morning and the remainder after school up until dinner time – this is completely flexible though. Optional Perks: We recommend that a bonus is often given to Au Pairs who stay for their contracted duration – this serves as a carrot to make sure you are not left in the lurch. Other advantages could be use of a car, mobile phone, help with cost of language lessons etc. – this is all optional and depends on your family circumstances.
