What are the requirments for cattle moving to sporting events?
All cattle moving to and from events must be correctly identified with approved NLIS devices. The details of their movements must be recorded on the NLIS database within 48 hours of the movement from the event. When the cattle have returned to their home property, the same information must be uploaded to the NLIS database to perform the return transfer. This can be achieved easily by reversing the ´from´ and ´to´ property identification codes (PICs) and changing the date of transfer. Please note that the cattle do not need to be read twice. These individual animal reports are carried out on the same sporting event database account as a mob-based movement report by using the ‘cattle moved onto my property’ and ‘cattle moved off my property’ functions. The ‘my property’ field relates to the sporting or campdraft ground – not the cattle’s property of origin.
