What are the roles of ScanTools and NCS DesignExpert?
Both ScanTools and NCS DesignExpert are time tested software packages that have provided scanning and printing utilities to Pearson Assessments scanner users for many years. In Benchmark ScanTools provides the scanning “engine” which allows full support for all Pearson Assessments scanners and scanner features. NCS DesignExpert, utilizing its MergePrint functionality, provides the ability to preslug or “personalize” standard answer sheets with teacher and student information. Note the implementation of ScanTools and NCS DesignExpert MergePrint in Benchmark are “run time only” utilities. They do not provide the forms design and programming capabilities of the full versions of these software packages that can be purchased from Pearson Assessments.
