What are the rules about pets in Janesville parks?
Except in designated pet exercise and training areas (“PETAs”), dogs and cats are prohibited from Janesville parks, greenbelts, and trails between May 15 and September 15 of each year. Animals are never permitted on any school grounds. During permitted times, pets must be on a leash of 6′ or less in length and you are required to pick up animal waste. Pet exercise areas are found in designated portions of Palmer Park and the Rock River Parkway. You may use them daily from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. year-round. In PETAs, you can exercise and train your dog without having to comply with the leash law. However, you must always have your dog under your control. Also, you must clean up after your pet and have your pets licensed.
