All first and second year students are informed about progression rules towards the end of the Spring term. A summary is: First year Maths students need eight exam passes, a pass in M1M (Comp) and a pass in the individual project to go into the second year. First year JMC need to pass all Computing components and all Maths exams to go into JMC2. Second year Maths students need eight second year exam passes and a pass in the group project to go into the third year. Second year JMC need four second year exam passes and the group project to go into JMC3. Third year MSci students need eight third year exam passes to go into the fourth year.
