What are the signs of a broken water pump in a Jeep Grand Cherokee?
Your radiator will most likely be unable to hold water if the pump is broken. Your jeep will overheat without it’s coolant, and, once the engine dies, it will not turn over. A good way to check is to a) check your water reservoir and see if it’s been drained, and b) open your radiator when the engine is cool and pour some water inside. If the water comes pouring out from the engine-side of your radiator, it could be a broken water pump. Luckily, this could also be a sign of a simple stuck thermostat valve, which is about a $15 replacement part. If you are unsure, it is probably best to just take it to a mechanic.
