What are the similarities and differences between Christianity and Islam ?
They are similar in the fact that without the Bible the Qur’an would not exist. It is a simple inaccurate version without any order by Mohammed in arabic as an alternative to the Bible. It has set out to destroy the credibility of Jesus as the saviour of mankind and the guarantor for everlasting life. This a defensive/attack ploy of the Devil Satan to fool mankind again. Islam does not recognise the idea of Original Sin and so the special good news truth message of Jesus has no relevance to them. In Christianity it is what you believe about Jesus that is crucial. In Islam it is what you do, for example killing in jihad for Allah to stop his anger and obedience to the five pillars that decide whether you will be saved to everlasting life.
Christianity asserts that God may be worship through Jesus whom they claimed as being the son of God or God Himself in human form. It can then be said that Jesus (the man) is a creation and as such, in this doctrine of Christianity, God is being worshipped through His creation (the man Jesus). This can be termed as an stress to worship God’s creation instead of God Himself. Islam on the other hand cannot accept nor concede to worship God through any of His of creation no matter how it is rationalized. While God being God it is only fitting and just to worship Him as such – God. We all know that Jesus, during his earthly sojourn, used to worship and pray to God. We can then conclude that while Christianity commands Christians to worship Jesus, Islam on the contrary commands Muslims to worship whom Jesus worshipped – and that is God.
