You are clubbing up Iran with Central Asia. Central Asia is considered as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan & Turkmenistan. Iran in West Asia is considered to be close to them ethnically, historically & geographically. The latter (geographical) is important as Iran offers them a route to the sea (through Turkmenistan). I don’t see any economic links and hence problems any of these six have with USA except the usual bilateral (possible between any two countries of the world) trade. USA is not facilitating the produce of these countries (Central Asia is land-locked), I wouldn’t say ‘preventing’, from reaching the sea for trade. That is possible through Iran as a single transit country. Alternate route is through Afghanistan and Pakistan. Af-Pak is firmly in the grip of fundamentalistic Islamic fanatics who consider America as their prime enemy. So both rivals are engaged in a bitter war (to the finish?) in Afghanistan. It is not conducive to trade or transit of goods by sea.
