It’s a secret, but the principles are easy to understand. Everyone gets a fair shot at winning prizes and getting published in the book. The algorithm takes all possible variables into account to ensure everyone gets a fair shake. Whether you enter your photo at the beginning or end of the contest you’ve got an equal shot at winning and getting published. You’ll see this reflected in each chapter’s “greatest” photos: the best photos from any given chapter are a mix of photos that have been up for a while and photos that are new to the party. The basic thing to remember is that views are good, but they are better if they turn into votes.
