It takes a lot of force to break a heel bone but it could be broken. Calcaneus fractures cause significant swelling and pain of the back of the foot. Symptoms of a calcaneus fracture include: Inability to walk (you may to be able to put light pressure on your foot but with really really really bad pain! ) Swelling of the foot Bruising of the foot Severe heel pain While you wait to go to the hospital if you have some sort or walking aid like spare crutchers or cane use that or if you dont stay in bed lol. Remember to use RICE method. Hope your foot is better soon.
