What Are the Symptoms of Whiplash Injury?
Usually within 24 hours of the whiplash injury the symptoms start to become apparent (although it can take several days in certain cases). Whiplash symptoms are not exclusive to the neck area but also can affect the shoulders and the head, these symptoms include: • Dizziness – Feelings of disorientation and physical imbalance which is sometimes accompanied by feelings of sickness, and impaired vision. • Nausea – Feeling the need to vomit and generally feeling weak and difficulties digesting food, sometimes accompanied by shivering. • Headaches and migraines stemming from the impact itself, this can exert certain forces on the brain which can cause headaches and migraines. • Pains in the neck and shoulders due to tissue injury – this neck pain will often spread out to other areas of the upper body as sometimes the damaged inflamed tissue can put excess pressure on the nerves.
