m=mass of earth

G=universal gravitational constant

r=distance between two bodies

we can easily calculate the force on earth due to sun by knowing the values. tThis force act the earth perpendicular to the velocity of earth .that is why velocity of earth does not change. And the force which act perpendicular to its velocity . it is called centripital force. it is responsible for the circular motion of body. hope u wil understand
