What are the types of inflammation of the salivary glands?

0

Some people are prone to blockages of the salivary glands by calcium deposits. I have had two removed already. There are major salivary glands and hundreds of minor ones. My blockages were in the minor glands. While some people get gallstones or kidney stones, others (like me and possibly like you) get stones, i.e. calcium deposits, in our salivary glands. So if you have a stone, the swelling will not go away, the blockage will have to be removed surgically. It is an easy procedure–they give you some laughing gas and remove the stone. See your dentist.
