There are three types of licensed providers for which the Department of Early Education & Care license sets rules for health, safety and staffing. A licensed provider should also help children learn and grow, and promote a good relationship between parent and child. Their current license must be posted. Group Child Care or Center Based Programs: This license is for all center-based care for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers. Infant/Toddler; Nursery school; Head Start; Transition and private Kindergarten programs may offer half or full day programs.
