WHAT ARE THE WALK BOUNDARIES?
Students within their school’s walk boundary are not eligible for bus services. Here is specific boundary information: • Elementary School students: the walk boundary is 1 mile around the school • Middle School students: the walk boundary is 1.5 miles around the school • Mid High and High School students: the walk boundary is 2 miles around the school WHAT HAPPENS DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER? School Bus Driver Certification requirements include: • A current, physical Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) which requires the passing of 4 state motor vehicle tests on Airbrakes, General Knowledge, Passengers, and School Buses. This is required to begin training. • 42 hours of pre-service training which includes: • 22 hours of classroom instruction • 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction • 2 hours of observation time • 6 hours of a First Aid class to include CPR • 6 hours of
