What are the white clouds coming from the tanks on westbound SH 114/121?

Since our soil liming operations have begun, you may have noticed white clouds coming from the lime tanks at our slaking yard on westbound SH 114/121 between International Parkway and Texan Trail. When we slake (mix) lime with water, a chemical reaction takes place, and steam is produced. The clouds are steam/vapor and not lime particles or smoke. As we move into the fall and winter seasons, the colder temperatures will make the steam more visible. The steam is not harmful to the environment or anyone driving through the corridor.
