Mussolini was prime minister of of Italy form 1922-1943 the year he was overthrown in a rebellion against his dictatorship. He ran a repressive fascist regime. He valued nationalism, anti-liberalism, anti-communism and militarism. Mussolini’s regime included strict censorship and state propaganda. When his regime was overthrown he became an ally of Adolf Hitler the dictator of Germany and had a strong influence over him. When Mussolini attempted flee when Allied Forces invaded Italy, he was captured at killed in April of 1944. Three differences between life under Mussolini and life in the United States are: 1) Under Mussolini, Italy existed as a police state.
