Trial deposits are just another step we take to make sure your HSBCdirect Online Savings Account is safe. If you choose to electronically fund your HSBC Direct Online Savings Account through transfers from an HSBC or other bank account, we start by making two small deposits to the funding account you have requested, usually for amounts less than $1. That’s our way of verifying that you are actually the owner of the account.
To move money into your new Huntington account, we make a secure electronic link to the bank funding your account. This link is created through trial deposits. We deposit small amounts of money into your funding account within 1 to 3 business days of receiving your completed application.We’ll walk you through this during your application process and in an email message.
