What are unlisted ELIs?
An unlisted equity linked investment (“ELI”) is an unlisted equity structured product that aims to offer a potential return higher than regular time deposits by capitalising on the price movement of an underlying stock. There are different types of ELIs, for example, Bull ELI, Bear ELI and Range ELI to suit your investment view on the underlying stock. Bull ELI is the most popular type of ELI in the market and is targeted at investors with a moderately bullish or stable view on the underlying stock. If the stock price moves as anticipated, you may enjoy a higher potential return than that available from regular time deposits. The Bull ELIs are not capital protected. At sta_bra();expiry (for Hang Seng Bull ELI) or maturity (for Macquarie Bull ELI),end_bra(); the Bull ELIs may be settled by physical delivery of the underlying stock and/or an amount in cash, the value of which may be substantially less than the capital invested and you may even suffer a total loss of the capital invested.
