What are Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation’s goals and initiatives for the Destination Resort Project?
The goal of the Destination Resort Project is to transform the Cache Creek Casino Resort into a world-class destination resort. The project seeks to add: 467 hotel rooms; 27 casitas or bungalows; a larger conference center; a larger event venue; and more gaming, dining and parking facilities. To ensure the impacts associated with the project are accounted for, the Tribe has offered Yolo County more than $5 million per year to cover the cost of services for law enforcement, fire protection and other services, road improvements, additional bus services, a park-and-ride facility, gambling addiction programs and more. In addition, though not required, the Tribe would pay $650,000 annually to the local Esparto School District and $250,000 annually to the City of Woodland to help finance affordable housing in Yolo County.
