I know it’s extra work, but your best bet is to make your daughter’s cereals yourself. Most factory manufactured foods, even the ones that say they are just rice, actually contain traces of wheat/gluten in them because they are packaged in the same factory as the other cereals. Besides, the Gerber plain rice cereal has practically no nutrients in it and if your daughter does have Celiac Disease, she desperately needs as many nutrients as she can get. I have been dealing with a similar issue. My daughter’s father and several other members of his family have Celiacs and I know there is a good possibility of her inheriting it too. I insisted on breastffeeding for at least 6 months and have recently started her on a gluten free diet until she is at least over one year old. Atually, if you research any baby nutrition website or book, they all recommend that NO babies eat wheat until after one year of age.
