Fav Metallica Tribute Band: Battery. They even opened for Metallica in 1998 for the “Garage Inc” tour. I was at the Aragon show in Chicago.

More than 15 Metallica tribute albums have been released, one being Kerrang, a tribute album called Master of Puppets Remastered. It had cover versions of Metallica songs by the bands Machine Head, Bullet for My Valentine, Chimaira, Mastodon, Mendeed, and Trivium, all who are influenced by Metallica. There’s also Apocalyptica, Beatallica, Harptallica, Damage Inc, and Battery Metallica tribute bands- maybe others I can’t think of. Kid rock has a cover of Sad But True. Some other artists covered Metallica songs at 2003 MTV Icon- Sum 41 covered For Whom the Bell Tolls/Enter Sandman/Master of Puppets. Staind covered Nothing Else Matters, Avril Lavigne covered Fuel, Snoop Dogg did Sad But True, Korn played One, and Limp Bizkit played Welcome Home (Sanitarium). Back in High School I went to see Sevendust and they played a little Metallica at the show. It’s been too long to remember clearly though…
