What benifits am i entitled to for maternity leave in the UK? ?

If you’ve been working with your employer for 26 weeks by the 15th week before your baby is due you are entitled to Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) which is 90% of normal pay for the first six weeks, then £117 for the next 33 weeks of your maternity leave. You are entitled to one years maternity leave, regardless of how long you have worked with your current employer, 9 months of which are paid. If you are not entitled to SMP, you may get Maternity Allowance, which is paid by the government. After the baby is born you will get child benefit and child tax credit. Depending on your earnings from paid employment, you may also be entitled to working tax credit.
