In tests only a really good filter can turn black dirty oil to a light brown. Stay the heck away from gimmick oil filters. We suggest Baldwin filters for one great reason. The HPG line can catch 5-micron particles 20% of the time and 8-micron particles 50% of the time and they cost about 9 bucks. Donaldson are also great filters. Clean oil equals better MPG.
