The REAL focus here is Quiet, Gentle and GOOD WITH CHILDREN. Secondary is Size. While you assuredly can find a fantastic SMALL or Medium sized dog…in both purebreds and Mutts…it is the TEMPERAMENT of the individual that is paramount here. Unless you are going to get some on site input from someone who knows how to judge Temperament…I would look at purebreds with a GRAIN OF SALT! An unfortunate number of purebreds are not well bred dogs and HAVE issues because of the influx of Puppy Mills selling “purebreds” (who have NO considerations as to breeding excepting to make MORE puppies to sell!) and then THOSE puppies grow up and people who have NO clue beyond…well I paid $300, $400, $600 for her..I have papers!!! I SHOULD BREED HER AND MAKE SOME MONEY (or she’s so cute and sweet…but they don’t know a thing about her actual bloodline!!!)
