What breeds cross well with the American Saddlebred?
The most successful breeds for outcrossing are those that have similar temperament and/or physical traits to the Saddlebred. Of these, historically the most successful crosses are the Arabian, Friesian, Hackney and Dutch Harness Horse – the last two specifically for harness. Other popular crosses include the Draught breeds, Thoroughbreds, Warmbloods and Standardbreds.
