What can Clayton County Public Schools do to regain accreditation?
Clayton County Public Schools will have until September 1, 2009 to fulfill the requirements of accreditation including fully meeting the original nine mandates outlined in the February 15, 2008 SACS CASI report, as well as continuing to implement an active continuous improvement plan and otherwise meeting all AdvancED standards. The action plan developed by the district in collaboration with SACS CASI provides a roadmap of requirements to reinstatement for Clayton County Public Schools. Once this action plan has been completed, the school district can contact SACS CASI to begin the next step of the reinstatement process The district will need to host a Quality Assurance Review visit, and the results of that visit will be reported to the Georgia State Council and then the AdvancED Accreditation Commission. The Accreditation Commission will review the Quality Assurance Review team’s recommendation and make an accreditation decision.
