What can i expect at my first prenatal visit?

0

Well, my first prenatal visit was at 8 weeks, so yours might be a little different seeing as you’re further along. But, at my first prenatal visit: *I filled out all the paperwork for the doctor’s office *They asked a bunch of questions about my medical and family history *They took my weight, blood pressure and urine sample *They did a pap smear, pelvic exam and breast exam *They took blood *They answered any questions I had and scheduled my ultrasound for my 12 week appointment. I did have an ultrasound and hear the baby’s heartbeat at 12 weeks, so it is possible that you will at this appointment, although I think most doctors wait on the ultrasound until about 20 weeks. It varies by doctor’s office. Probably, since you’re 3 months, they will try to find the heartbeat though, since it can usually (but not always) be heard by 11-12 weeks. Good luck and congrats!
