What can I wear with burgundy corduroy pants to a job interview?
I am a personnel director and I do a lot of interviews. I don’t agree with the comment corduroys are too informal for an interview. The man never specified for what kind of interviews. I would agree with the answer if the interview is for a manager. If the interview is for a teacher or a technician, I would say corduroys in good condition is the best thing, a lot better than denim jeans. My personnel answer would be a gray tweed jacket, tan corduroy jacket same wales… I hired recently a nice black haired young man who came to the interview with a nice black velvet jacket and a nice pair of gray corduroy. My personnel assistant regularly wears tan cords with a nice dark brown corduroy jacket, gray corduroy pants with a marine corduroy jacket. Sometimes he wears loden green jeans with his brown corduroy jacket. A lot of people make the comment how well he is dressed to meet a lot of different persons. I agree that wearing an old pair of corduroy jeans to an interview would not be wise.
