WHAT CAUSES A GFE?
GFE s are caused by any of these conditions: • Hardware or hard disk malfunction/failure • Fluctuation in the main computer s electrical power • Total power failure without a proper Pick shutdown from port 0 • Resetting/rebooting the main computer while file updating is in progress • Switching the main computer power OFF without a proper Pick shutdown from port 0 • Static electricity around the main computer • The hard disk is terribly fragmented due to infrequent restores • Running low on contiguous frames on the hard disk • Temperature of main computer gets extremely warm • Data files are poorly sized. Will also cause lengthy restores. HOW DO I KNOW I HAVE A GFE? A GFE message will display in one of two places: • During work hours, on the terminal/PC that was using the file in which the GFE was encountered. • After work hours, on the terminal/PC doing the full file-save.
