What Causes Hail and Snow?
Snow is basically water in the clouds that harden making it somewhat of a solid form. Now hail goes through a process where the winds bring back the falling precipitation and make it go through the cold layers of air making it harder. It will fall when it gets to heavy for the wind to bring it back up or if the wind dies down.
