What causes the different types of cloud to form?

0

The formation of different types of clouds depends upon, stability of the atmosphere , moisture content, upper winds, movement of frontes etc. If the atmosphere is unstable, convection takes place and cumuliform type(more vertical growth) clouds like cumulus, cumulonimbus etc., develop. It the atmosphere is stable, stratiform clouds(sheet-like without vertical growth) like, stratocumulus, altostratus, cirrostrraus etc., clouds form .Sometimes the moisture content is different at different layers(due to winds) and the clouds form in different heights.Somtimes winds bring clouds formed at other places.Somtimes topography (mountains, nearby sea) decide the type of clouds.Sometime, storms and weather front bring different type of clouds. Thus there are many factors which decide the type of clouds over a place.
