What characteristics or super powers do black superheroes usually have?
BK: Black superhero powers run the gamut, just as their counterparts. Abilities range from weather control (X-Men’s Storm) to superhuman strength (Luke Cage) to energy control (Black Lightning), as well as characters who actually have no real powers but are super in their own right. The Black Panther (Marvel Comics) is a prime example of such a character. Also known as T’Challa, the Black Panther is the ruler of the fictional African nation of Wakanda, a technological marvel and a financially superior nation to almost all others on Earth. He has no actual powers, per se, but similar to Batman, is extremely intelligent, has superior physical strength and agility, and can match strength and wits with virtually any of the other characters in Marvel’s universe. The Black Panther has gained massive popularity over the last ten years especially, and is now primed for an animated series, due to be released in the near future.
