What characters approved of Romeo and Juliets relationship???
Let’s see… Of all characters: – Benvolio: Probably didn’t even know about it – Mercutio: Killed by Tybalt before knowing, if at all – Tybalt: Did not know of the relationship, but it is HIGHLY likely he would DEFINITELY oppose this. I mean, he despised Romeo and would not accept his desire for truce between both houses and ultimately got killed – Nurse: She did approve and as Juliet’s confidante, agreed with her at all times… UNTIL at one point when Juliet’s parents scolded her for not agreeing to marry Count Paris, she was like, “Oh you should go marry the Count for the greater good..” That’s when Juliet lost faith in her – Friar Lawrence: Not only did he want them to marry, but he also covertly married them. He would also come up with the “brilliant” plan to get them together at last, but stupid Romeo had to suicide. That idiot. He also wanted them to marry because it may bring truce to both Montagues and Capulet. Ultimately, it did, but at the price of the two lovers.
