Good choice! 🙂 Here are some things that everyone should do when applying for a college, and some things that are specific to you for your chosen field. 1) Take some AP classes. Not too many so you don’t do well in them, but a few each year starting junior year. AP classes will get you college credit while you’re still in highschool. That way, when you get to college, you’ll already have credits without paying for the class. For example, I took AP psychology in high school, did well on the AP test, and got college credit for psychology. Many schools have graduation requirements that you have to fullfill, for example- you might have to take an economics course or something, or a writing course. Take the AP test, and you won’t have to do it in college. Just work hard! 2) Now, regarding optometry- you’re obviously going to need a lot of science/medical/math based courses.
