What communities will be eligible for the new food retail subsidy program?

0

Communities that use the current Food Mail Program extensively will continue to be eligible. Communities that use the program, but not extensively, will be eligible for a nominal subsidy rate during the first year of the new program. Communities that have not been using the Food Mail Program at all will not be eligible for the subsidy under the new program. By allowing communities that use the program minimally to remain on it, INAC will be able to track the data for their shipments and food prices and make informed decisions regarding ongoing eligibility. The community eligibility list for 2011-2012 will be based on the final 2009-2010 Food Mail data that should be available by fall 2010.
