What computer support staff did the instructors have at their disposal?
The instructors benefited from very accessible and useful support people at both the departmental and university levels in addition to the undergraduates hired to provide software assistance. The department computer staff-person created space on the departmental server for the websites and provided assistance with uploading files. We depended on this staff person for security of the sites and to “lock-down” the sites after the deadline so no additional changes could be made. University-level computer support people provided guest lectures on using Dreamweaver and how to design aesthetically pleasing websites. University support was also available to provide technical assistance and help for the most challenging dilemmas. The university also offered two-day training courses on Dreamweaver which some instructors took to prepare them for teaching the course.
