What could be the side effects from taking Ginseng?
Ginseng is not associated with serious side effects if taken at the recommended dosage. However, it may be toxic in very large quantities and/or with usage over a long period of time, hence the Ginseng Abuse Syndrome (hypertension, nervousness, irritability, diarrhea, skin eruptions, insomnia). If you experience any of these side effects, stop usage and report those to your heath care professional: Elevated blood pressure, Headache (in conjunction with phenelzine intake), Manic episodes (in conjunction with phenelzine intake). Rare side effects that do not require medical attention are: diarrhea, headaches, insomnia, irritability, nausea, vomiting, nervousness, rash, restlessness. If they are continuing or bothersome, stop usage and report it to your health care professional.
