What could Laura Bush have bought with $550,000 instead of a bunch of gold-plated dinner ware?
JMB voiced my thoughts precisely. It grieves me to see Laura Bush, who is obviously far more intelligent than her husband, sit sweetly and obediently beside her oaf of a husband, agreeing to his every excuse for the mess he has made of this country. He is trying to make stubborn obstinacy in the face of undeniable facts a virtue, instead of the tragedy it is. He wails about the financial crisis happening on “his watch,” while claiming no responsibility for causing it. In the meantime, Laura smiles, so sweet that…to borrow a phrase…it almost makes one diabetic. Her family is safe. Plenty of money, much of it raked up during the wars with investments in munitions and technical airline security equipment. She can buy gold-plated china for her multi-million dollar home and possibly refurbish the ranch. In the meantime, Childrens Health Programs have disappeared, Head Start has been slashed. Millions of Americans have no Health Care and we are so indebted we face generations of struggle
