With every new round of expansion that becomes a harder question for as NATO as moved eastwards more countries that are net security consumers have joined, rather than security providers. As NATO has an immense capabilities gap, this is not helping matters. Also the NATO guarantee, like marriage, is forever. As we move toward considering less stable countries membership becomes ever more problematic. I’d guess filling in the map of Europe, rather than guessing at where Europe ends comes next.
