What do air conditioning and heat pump ratings mean?
This stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Rating. The “size” of an air conditioner is rated in BTUs (British Thermal Units) or tons; however the “efficiency” of a system is rated in SEER. SEER is like mpg (miles per gallon) in a car: the higher the mpg (or SEER) the lower the gasoline (electricity or gas) bill. Santee Air Conditioning Repair
Efficiency ratings – SEER (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) is a system for rating the efficiency of cooling equipment. The higher the number, the less it will cost you to operate. HSPF(Heating Seasonal Performance Factor) is a measurement similar to SEER, but it is measuring the efficiency of the heating part of a heat pump.
