What do gnostics believe in?

0

I consider myself a gnostic who can take on the form of a gnostic Christian at will. Basically, through knowledge and experience, it’s possible to have Gnosis. This would be like oneness with the universe, union with God, whatever. Many, many mystics over the course of human history have claimed to have such experiences. Yet people who don’t believe in the possibility of such an experience usually call them liars or insane. The idea is that an ultimate reality exists underlying all of our perceptions. The nature of this reality is hardwired into our nervous systems, but it’s so subtle and efficient that we often times don’t even know that it’s there driving all of our desires and ambitions, and shaping all of our perceptions and beliefs. Through certain types of practices it’s possible to bypass all of the limiting factors that arise from having a corporeal existence through a localized string of space-time coordinates. Our eyes can only perceive so much of the electromagnetic spectrum
