What do I do if I have problems with Pocket PC Synchronisation and Windows XP Service Pack 2?
Windows Firewall is installed when you update a Windows XP computer to Service Pack 2. If you have Service Pack 2 you will have a Security Centre icon in Control Panel. The first time you attempt to Synchronise your Pocket PC using ActiveSync you should receive a message telling you that Windows Firewall has blocked ActiveSync, and giving you the option to unblock it. For instructions on how to unblock ActiveSync, and also what action to take if you don’t receive the message see the following links: • Pocket PC Configuring Windows XP, Service Pack 2’s Firewall and ActiveSync page • Smartphone and Pocket PC Magazine forum discussion: XP SP2 Windows Firewall & ActiveSync We have not come across similar issues with PalmSync.
