What Do Julianne Hough, Derek Hough and Mark Ballas Have in Common?
2. Dancing and Training in London Julianne Hough, Derek Hough and Mark Ballas all trained in London as dancers together when they were growing up –> . Julianne and Derek are from Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1998, the two moved to London when their parents divorced, and began to train for the Latin dance with Corky and Shirley Ballas, Mark Ballas’ parents. Mark Ballas is from Texas, and he had moved with his parents to London. While in England, Julianne Hough partnered with Mark Ballas in dancing competitions. Together, they won the Junior Latin American Dance Championship. All three studied dance at the Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts. They trained for singing, dancing and acting! It was here that they obtained the background for going on to perform in dance competitions, sing in bands, and become actors. Julianne Hough became the Junior Blackpool World Latin Champion.
